- Request Level 1 Volunteer Application at school
- Submit completed application to School. 2 References required
- A Background Check will be conducted through Gaston Community Action, Inc. Human Resources Dept.
- Attend an orientation session at GCA Human Resources Dept.
- Sign a Code of Conduct Contract at orientation
- Picture ID Badge issued during HR with "Level 1 Volunteer" OR "Mentor" designation
- Administrative office will conduct additional mentor training for All Mentor Volunteers
Level 2 Volunteer
- Level 2 Volunteer Application (Kept at school)
- 2 References
- Sex Offenders Registry Check
- Code of Conduct Contract
- ID Badge kept at School and worn during each visit
Visitor
- No application Required
- Visitor's Badge Printed at time of visit through visitors management system
Position Description
Task involves direct contact with students under limited supervision by school staff

Who is a level 1 Volunteer?
All mentors, Regular Tutors who have one on one student contact not under direct supervision.
Who is a level 2 Volunteer?
Classroom Volunteer, Office Volunteer, Library or Media Center Volunteer, Day Field Trip Volunteers, and Clubs that utilized parent volunteers
Who is a Visitor?
All Visitors not described in above categories
